Use this field to specify the current owner of the task. Only administrators and technicians may assign or reassign tasks. In addition, tasks can only be assigned to technicians. (That's why they're technicians.) The abbreviation for the user's department appears (in parentheses) beside the user's name. A task may be assigned or reassigned for a variety of reasons. For example, a manager would assign any newly created tasks to the technician responsible for completing the task. That technician might pass the task along to a technician more suited to dealing with the problem. When the technician completes the task, he may assign it to a QA person for verification. |
